Ode to Chet – first male skier (much earlier today)

February 19, 2012

We would be remiss not to mention that Chet Fehrmann was the first male skier in this morning at 12:42 a.m., giving him a race time of 15 hours and 42 minutes. Word has it Chet had to overcome a broken pole, binding and boot. And he still managed to fight off Kevin Postma, who finished 2 minutes behind Chet.

First female runner!

See last year and many other previous years.  Yes, it is Laura, again.

First female skier in!

February 19, 2012

Fiona Worcester finished as the first female skier in a time of 26 hours and 50 minutes.

Here is a tidbit: in high school Fiona was the 2005 Alaska state skimeister.  Apparently she hasn’t lost her stride.

First runner has come in

February 19, 2012

Dave Johnston was the first runner to finish the Su100, with a time of 24:11. Dave said his favorite part of the course is the out and back to Alexander Lake because he can see all the other racers and stop and talk to them. We’re thinking Dave could have broken 24 hours if he wasn’t so chatty.

Quiet morning

February 19, 2012

Things are slowing down here, and nothing too exciting to report. Results are trickling in now, and we will continue to post as we get them.

Just got all the results we have from Flathorn, Luces and Alexander Lake posted online.

It continues to cool off, making for firmer late night trails to travel on.

February 18, 2012

Biker John Lackey finished at 8:18 p.m., giving him a time 11 hours and 18 minutes.

Sorry this is delaying getting Luces results online. More bikers should be finishing soon.

Luces updates coming 8:10 p.m.

February 18, 2012

We have lots and lots of results just called in from Luce’s. We’ll get them up asap.

About 20 degrees out there now.

More results – bikers through last checkpoint

February 18, 2012

More results are in from Alexander Lake, and Flathorn. At Flathorn, the red lantern racers are through the checkpoint heading to Alexander Lake. And the race leaders just went through Flathorn, their last checkpoint before the finish. Bikers John Lackey and Kevin Breitenbach are still battling it out.
